Spring 2017 Tour Overview
Gretchen Hull's spring 2017 recital program featured well-known and beloved repertoire of Chopin, Ravel, Mozart, and Messiaen with lesser-known works of unusual and often unearthly beauty by a group of seldom-heard Norwegian composers. Having recently given a lecture recital on the piano repertoire of five Norwegian composers of the early 20th century, Gretchen performed music from this nordic program on the east and west coasts of America in a tour named after a Hardanger folksong transcribed and adapted by Geirr Tveitt. Performances were held in California, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and New York. Norwegian composers included:
Edvard Grieg
Christian Sinding
Fartein Valen
David Monrad Johansen
Harald Sæverud
Geirr Tveitt
